CloudGeni is an agentic CloudOps platform: AI agents that generate infrastructure code, remediate drift and automate compliance across several clouds, with sandboxing and policy guardrails around them. InfraSync produces a deterministic scan result and cannot change your account at all. Comparing them on features misses the point. The real question is how much authority you want software to have over infrastructure you are accountable for.

Two different bets

CloudGeni is betting that agents with real authority, properly sandboxed and governed by policy, are how cloud operations should work. That is a coherent position and for teams committed to an agent-driven operating model it is the right kind of product.

InfraSync is betting the opposite way on this specific question. Not that models are useless, but that the write path is where the risk concentrates, so there should not be one. A scan produces the same result twice. Nothing infers what you meant and then acts on the inference.

Why determinism is a feature

Determinism sounds like an absence of capability. In infrastructure it is the thing that makes output reviewable.

When a scan produces Terraform, you can diff it against the previous scan and the difference is a change in your account, not a change in a model's mood. When a cost finding says a volume costs a certain amount, the arithmetic is unit-tested and produces the same number every time. When a rightsizing recommendation is refused because the target would run hotter than 70% of capacity, the refusal is a rule that is applied identically to every instance, not a judgement.

That property is what lets you check the work. A number generated by a model is one you have to verify each time. A number generated by tested arithmetic is one you verify once. On a page arguing this, it matters that the arithmetic is written down.

Where CloudGeni is the better choice

  • You want agents doing the work. If the goal is infrastructure code written and drift corrected without a person in the loop, that is their design and explicitly not ours.
  • You are multi-cloud. CloudGeni spans AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI. InfraSync is AWS-only.
  • Compliance automation is the driver. Automated compliance across clouds is a category InfraSync does not enter.
  • You are building an agent-driven operating model. If that is the direction, a tool that refuses to act is friction rather than safety.

Where InfraSync is

  • You want a deterministic result. The same account produces the same code, and a diff between scans means something.
  • You want read-only, provably. Not an agent restrained by policy, but a tool with no write path to restrain.
  • You want to review before anything moves. Output goes to a branch and a pull request, through whatever review your team already has.
  • Your stack is AWS. Depth across 89 services rather than breadth across four clouds.
  • You want to see a price. Published tiers and a free trial.

Where we do use a model, and what constrains it

It would be dishonest to present InfraSync as model-free. A model is used to explain drift: what changed, what it affects, and what to look at.

Two constraints make that safe, and they are worth stating because they are the difference between using a model and trusting one.

Every suggested command is read-only, verified against the real AWS service model. Not filtered for dangerous words, which fails open on anything the filter's author did not think of, but validated affirmatively that the operation exists and reads. Anything that cannot be verified is marked unverified.

The verification is not performed by the model. A model asked whether its own output is safe will sometimes say yes. The check is done by something other than the thing being checked. The full reasoning is here.

So the model explains and suggests investigation. It does not act, and it cannot.

Frequently asked questions

Is InfraSync a CloudGeni alternative?

For deterministic AWS codification and read-only drift and cost analysis, yes. For an agent-driven operating model with autonomous remediation and compliance automation across AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI, no. They are different bets about how much authority software should have over infrastructure.

Does InfraSync use AI?

Yes, for explaining drift: what changed, what it affects and what to investigate. It does not use AI to change anything. Every suggested command is validated against the real AWS service model as a read operation, and that validation is performed by InfraSync rather than self-reported by the model.

Why is deterministic output better for infrastructure code?

Because it makes the result reviewable. When a scan is deterministic, a diff between two scans means something changed in your account rather than in a model's output. Tested arithmetic gives a number you verify once; a generated number is one you verify every time.

Can AI agents safely modify my infrastructure?

That is the open question the two products answer differently, and reasonable teams disagree. CloudGeni sandboxes agents and governs them with policy guardrails. InfraSync avoids the question by having no write path at all, which means someone has to act on findings. Choose the model your risk appetite actually supports.
